Central Laboratory building with pneumatic transport of samples
The aim of the project was to develop a complete Concept for the Central Laboratory Building, including:
– multi-discipline design of the laboratory building;
– design of the laboratory process;
– design of the pneumatic transport of samples from individual production departments;
– piping lines routed within the entire plant to the laboratory building;
– an approximate list of costs;
– a list of estimated operating costs;
The project was carried out in close cooperation with the customer, future users of the laboratory and the manufacturer of equipment related to the collection, transport and analysis of samples. The result of our work was a modern project meeting all the objectives set by the future user:
– concentration of all laboratories and workplaces in one building;
– centralization of measuring devices;
– shortening the time of sample delivery to the laboratory by using pneumatic transportation system;
– use of automatic samplers and on-line analyses for selected raw materials;
– use of automatic sample preparation and analysis systems for XRF and OES analyses;
– implementation of IT solutions to the Central Laboratory and partial automatic data transfer to the LIMS system;
– improvement of work organization on the plant;
